A Kenner man released from prison less than two weeks ago on obscenity charges is back in jail after allegedly fondling himself in the electronics department in a Kenner Wal-mart, police said.

Ricky Scott, 55, was booked with obscenity after his arrest at Wal-mart on Saturady, marking the 14th time he has been arrested on that charge in Jefferson Parish alone, said Detective Brian McGregor of the Kenner Police Department.

Share He has at least five felony convictions for obscenity on his record, police said.

Scott was released from prison on June 24 and is on parole until 2011 in connection with obscenity convictions in 2004 and 2008, according to court records.

In the 2004 case, he was fondling himself near a Kenner swimming pool in view of children and women, court records show. In 2008, he fondled himself in public while watching a woman sun-bathing at a Kenner motel, records show.

In the current case, Scott was caught on Wal-mart's surveillance video masturbating in the electronic department while watching a young boy, who appeared to be between 9 to 13 years of age, McGregor said.

A witness approached an off-duty Kenner police officer working a detail at the store at 8912 Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

Scott, whose address is 3040 Marietta St., remained Tuesday in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna and bond had not been set, McGregor said.

Kenner Officer Nicholas Patterson is investigating the case.
